Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2023?! How the hell has it been going by so fast??
I want you to check in with yourself real quick.
Remember those big goals you set for yourself this year? How are you doing? Are you on track to hit them? Or wayyyyyy behind?
If you feel like you aren’t making the progress you want and you’re feeling blah about it… this is the perfect episode for you!
In this episode, I want to talk to you about how to tackle that mid-year panic and chat about what not to do when you feel off track. We’ll also dive into the strategies you can incorporate to ensure you still crush your goals this year- no doubt about it!
What we’re NOT going to do
We are not going to panic. Panicking is literally the least helpful thing possible, because here’s what you need to remember: you’re the one who set this goal. You’re in control of it, and nothing will happen to you if by December 31st, you haven’t hit that goal, so there is no need to panic.
We are not going to beat ourselves up. All of that negative self-talk that comes into your brain when you realize you’re not as on track as you’d like to be, that’s normal, but it’s not helpful. You can’t bully yourself into success. I don’t want you to guilt yourself and feel shame around the fact that you’re not where you want to be at this point.
We are not going to give up. If you set an intention or a goal for yourself, it’s because you desire it. You want it, and your desires are your destiny, so you have what it takes to get there. Just because you aren’t there yet, doesn’t mean it won’t happen for you.
What we ARE going to do
We are going to check in with ourselves. I want you to check in with yourself and ask yourself if this is still something you want. And only ask yourself that question solely around desire, not where you are in the process of achieving that goal. The reason for this is that sometimes our goals change, and we thought we wanted something and we don’t want it in the same way. Or maybe our desires have changed. And if it’s changed, then tweak it and relock in on it. Getting clear is the first step to making sure the end result is still where you want to go.
We are going to give ourselves credit for what we’ve accomplished. Something we don’t do enough is stop and evaluate how far we’ve come and what we’ve actually accomplished. It’s so important to give yourself credit for the things you’ve done to get where you are right now, because I’m sure you’ve done more than you think!
We are going to be honest with ourselves about where we can improve. When acknowledging your achievements, I want you to be honest with yourself about areas where you can improve. Focus on one or two specific areas that can benefit from intentional action, because small tweaks can have a HUGE impact on your progress.
We are going to commit to being more intentional. I want you to start taking action and holding yourself accountable because doing the damn thing is what it all comes down to. Commit to taking action instead of just talking about it.
We are going to ask ourselves why. If you’re realizing you’re not even close to where you want to be, ask yourself why. You probably have some self-sabotaging beliefs that are making you feel stuck, and this is where the limiting belief detox comes in. So, get really honest with yourself about what’s going on, figure out the thoughts that make you feel that way, and then clear that shit up. Get those beliefs out of here because they are a lie. If you don’t believe you can be successful, you won’t. If you believe in yourself, and you continue to tell your brain that, you will.
We are going to shift our perspective. It’s easy for us to get into a negative mindset when we are not where we want to be. Instead of thinking like that, what if you shifted your mindset to thinking about how much progress you’ve made toward your goal? You still have half of the entire year left to crush your goals and achieve everything you set out to do. Recognize that the first half of the year was about planting the seed and building momentum, and now things can start to speed up.
I want you to remember what you are capable of. Give yourself grace, check in with yourself, give yourself credit, and get rid of anything in your way and look at the next six months as a time to blow shit out of the water. So, no panicking, no beating yourself up, and no giving up. I can’t wait to see where you are six months from now!
